World Photography Day 2024
Although photography has started to evolve earlier, it was Louis Daguerre in Paris that proposed one of the first complete processes, called, obviously, Daguerreotype.
On 19th of August, 1839, he presented the invention to the Academy of Sciences. And it is this date that the Indian photographer O. P. Sharma, back in 1991, proposed to be held as the World Photography Day. Idea that was largely accepted and, from that year, we started to celebrate it.
Photographers from all over the world are called to submit photographs to the international community by any means. Mostly on Social Media. This photo is my little contribution to the day. On this date also, the 19th of August 2024, I start this site about Photography.
